She studied Classical Indian dance for a number of years before embarking on the journey that has led her to the creative expression she is now exploring. Her inspiration comes from Yogiji’s teachings, and is set to music ranging from ancient to contemporary, Eastern to Western, The Beatles to Bjork to Tabla Beat Science. Jai sets her body in motion across the floor in the same way a writer sets his or her pen in motion across the page, and with the same intention: to tell the stories that live within.

The Master’s Touch opened Sat Kartar up to the world of Mantra and Naad Yoga, the yoga of sound. During the last half of the seventies, Sat Kartar immersed himself in the music of Kundalini Yoga mantras and songs, as well as Gurbani Kirtan, the music of the Sikh scriptures. This included learning tabla, harmonium, and the basics of the science of Raga.
Sat Kartar Singh began performing with GuruGanesha Singh in the early nineties and became one of his go-to band mates for local events. Together they have a chant CD called “Live at Five” which was done out of pure love.

Sat Kartar Singh is very excited to be participating in the tour. Icing on the cake is that they will be joined by daughter Jai Khalsa.

GuruGanesha spends much of the year touring, enchanting audiences with his guitar wizardry and singing on tour with Snatam Kaur on the Celebrate Peace Tour. They play before audiences that range from 100 to 1200 people. Like traditional Kirtan, there is a call and response portion to much of their concerts, but the pedigree of the musicianship sets their performances apart. GuruGanesha Singh, a life-long musician, feels an intense need to take this sacred music and raise it to new heights with musicians who are masters of their craft.

Celebrate Peace Tour (with Snatam Kaur)

Snatam Kaur and GuruGanesha Singh are dedicated to creating a musical experience that honors the sacredness of the sound. They rehearse with the other members of the band for weeks before going on tour. Their onstage communication is so subtle and so tight, it feels like you are being carried over gentle waters.

“The purpose of our concerts is to create a beautiful experience, to offer people a chance to go deep within themselves and be uplifted from the inside out. The music allows them to experience the quietness within themselves, a total sense of contentment and gratitude. Sacred music can help people find peace inside themselves so they can express it outside themselves. It is humbling but also empowering that our inner space absolutely does have an effect on the planet around us.”

GuruGanesha Singh and Snatam Kaur are ambassadors for 3HO, a UN NGO and are committed to help supporting the UN’s peace resolution through their Celebrate Peace Tour.
